Description

You had good rationales for needing to evaluate students and faculty. You are a little off on the purpose of the assessment. The course evaluation is typically a survey or set of open-ended questions that students fill out at the end of the course to evaluate if the course content and instructor facilitation led the students to meet the course learning outcomes and program learning outcomes. We do this so we can improve teaching materials, curriculum and teaching strategies in courses to make sure quality learning occurs. Continuous program evaluation and improvement is critical to the health of a nursing program and an issue of compliance for regulatory bodies such as accreditation agencies or boards of nursing. Look at your course evaluations for previous courses to see what you need to focus on in your evaluation tool. See the criterion feedback for specific comments.
