Identify problems to be addressed by people in the future that may be forced upon them by causes out of their control.

Description

A ROAD MAP TO THE FUTURE – OUTLINE INSTRUCTIONS
This outline describes the requirements for the last paper of the term. In this research project you will put together your view of the world in 50-100 years in respect to TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCES. Use your paper to paint a picture of life in the future. Discuss changes we might expect in our everyday lives. Draw from our class discussions, and your own research. When selecting elective topics, consider how technology will be used to change the world we have today, how will it help correct problems you see with today’s’ society? Who might be the winners and the losers as a result of these changes? Remember, we are interested in changes and advancements brought about by our use of technology. This project will be your e-Portfolio submission.

This project consists of ideas you have collected as a result of class discussions, assembled in chapters (Sections) that cover various aspects of current technology.

Refer to the handout entitled “Visioning” that you received at the beginning of the term, and follow the general rules to clarify your ideas.
Your work should contain:

1. AN ABSTRACT (VISIONING) STATEMENT, which is a brief overview identifying
aspects of modern life that you see as falling short and will require change in the future. Include technologies that you feel are working correctly and will require minimal or no improvement.

2. Identify problems to be addressed by people in the future that may be forced upon them by causes out of their control.

3. Identify new challenges that world citizens may face.

4. A statement that outlines your general philosophy concerning technology and the future.

Each chapter (Section) in you report should cover a different aspect of our future life. Discuss in detail the problems and benefits we will derive from future technology. Make specific statements as to how you see our civilization addressing problems, or making life better for individuals through the application of technological fixes.
Each chapter should have thoughts about how changes will affect both an individuals’ personal life and his/her work.

ALL PAPERS MUST CONTAIN THESE REQUIRED SECTIONS

Your research must include references and source data.
The paper must be referenced according to APA or MLA guidelines which are attached to the Canvas Section covering the assignment and will be discussed in class. Wikipedia references can be used, but must be backed up with at least one additional source.
Use as many references as you can, but a minimum of 2 per chapter is required. Remember to add citations to any graphs, photos, maps etc.
 There is no minimum number of pages for this assignment. However, you are expected to cover each of the chapters in a logical and well thought out manner. Grade is based on quality and not quantity.
A date will be given for your completed work to be submitted. Submit your work in an acceptable file format on CANVAS.

Raise concerns, and propose solutions based on research of current and cutting edge technology. Make your project personal. How will technology affect YOU and your family?
